The recent implementation of an upgraded Production management system has added to more efficiencies within Passport Service. The Project was implemented under the Passport Service Reform Programme. Successful collaboration between X Infotech and Smurfit Kappa Security Concepts has resulted in the successful upgrade of a new and improved Production Management system.
The new Production Management System has new and improved functionalities including the introduction of a flexible priority production function to allow for more streamlined prioritisation of work in response to demand. The upgraded systems also allows more flexible precise amendments to the production process, for example inclusion of extended information into postal details to improve the accuracy of postal services, a key goal of the Passport Reform Programme. The automation of assurance checks has greatly improved efficiencies in the processing of Passports as well as the integration of the Production Management System with the automatic mailing machines introduced into the Passport Service in 2019.
The efforts and dedication of the Project team gained highest esteems from the DFA management. Head of the Passport Service Reform team complimented the efficiencies and preformance of the system, as well as the dedication and expertise of XIT in the successful delivery of this project despite challenging travel restrictions.
