The workshop “Data Security and Cards 2011” took place in Riga, Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija on the 31st of May, 2011. It was organized by X InfoTech.
The workshop was conducted by leading experts in financial and security solutions - Safenet, Datacard, Gemalto and X InfoTech.
This workshop was focused on three major topics:
- Data Encryption & Control, HSMs, DataSecure and PCI-DSS by SafeNet
- Datacard® CardWizard® solution
- eBanking and mBanking by Gemalto
By bringing together leading experts from three separate topics, the workshop provided an excellent frame for the discussion about the wide variety of products and solutions for financial and government sector, related to data security and card issuing.
The workshop was attended by forty-five participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland, which represented Banks, Enterprises and Government Authorities.
The program included four sessions, which were represented by presentations of X InfoTech, SafeNet, Datacard Group and Gemalto.
Andris Rozentals, the chairman of the board of X InfoTech
Andris Rozentals opened the event by short introduction of all partners and X InfoTech experience in data security and card projects. A. Rozentals highlighted the main objectives of the agenda and made presentation on X InfoTech five year achievements.

Andreas Gatz, Principal Consultant of SafeNet Prof. Services EMEA
The second to take the floor was Andreas Gatz. The morning session of the workshop was dedicated to the presentation of the SafeNet solutions, related to data protection. The topic of Safenet presentation was Data Encryption & Control, HSMs, DataSecure and PCI-DSS. Andreas Gatz represented to all the participants new technologies in data protection area. Also real HSM devices were presented and demonstrated by X InfoTech technical specialists.

Ales Kepka, Datacard Group Regional manager
In the third part of the event, Ales Kepka presented Datacard® CardWizard® solution for card instant issuing. A.Kepka showed how banks and other card issuing organizations, using Datacard® CardWizard® solution can get opportunities to increase profitability and reduce costs, provided most advanced security and convenience of service for their clients or customers. Ales Kepka presented to participants innovation in the marketplace, that allows to banks and card issuing organizations to hold their own position in global market.
Håkan Nordfjell, Gemalto SVP eBanking & eCommerce
In the fourth session, Håkan Nordfjell represented to participants of workshop an overview of Gemalto Banking offers and a detailed look at eBanking and mBanking trends and technologies by presenting „Gemalto’s All Around”. Håkan Nordfjell presented Ezio™ product line for eBanking and eCommerce, showed in his presentation how bank customers cn rely on the fact that their money is safe with the bank and how banks can make it`s remote authentication system effective and secure.
Andris Rozentals, the chairman of the board X InfoTech closed the workshop and addressed sincere thanks to all of participants and presenters of the workshop.
